A Timeless Romance

As I realize many of you are just becoming enlightened to the presence of MsBjork, I figured it would be courteous to establish what Im all about and retell the romance.  I fell in love with photography while I was living in New Orleans.  After our first encounter, which lead to a cigarette, a lighter & a pack of unknowns (my first series), the creation was unstoppable and I fell head over heels.  I took photography classes at Tulane University and did everything possible to involve my self in the Art Department, especially the photography floor.  To me, it was a place of worship.  No matter how much I did I was always hungry for more, new ideas flooded my existence as I dove into the art world headfirst.  The first photographs I took were on a camera phone, and then I upgraded my digital (which I feel needs to be done all too often) and next bought a film camera.  After that I became addicted to photography.  Black and white 35mm film on my Canon AE-1 became the lens through which I saw the world.  I took rolls and rolls and rolls of film because it seemed like everything wanted to be photographed.  The backdrop of New Orleans on these wide eyes made the sky the limit.  Concurrently I began documenting my escapades and the epnicity of this life I am living.  When photography and I got engaged, I bought an enlarger and turned my back shed into a darkroom.  After a few years, I got too caught up in the past living in New Orleans and shooting in black and white, so I changed scenery, began shooting in color and let Washington set the scene.  I was in constant search of my vision and found vibrant glimpses around every corner.  I submerged myself in learning about the relationships photography had with other artists, and I realized that I too needed to continue to climb the ladder.   So I applied, interviewed and got accepted into the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).  There I was emerged and enlightened to a whole new world of art.  I began to take more action in regards to what I was photographing and indulge in some of my creativity.  After having found the fabulous-ness in color, I felt it time to return to my roots and bring my creative resilience with me.  Thus I embarked on making a silent black and white super 8mm film.  SAIC was a truly rewarding and eye opening experience.  I'm wandering the earth yet again, armed with my camera, darkroom and a vision.  I'll send yal photographs along the way.
