Becoming a Forensic Psychologist (Click Here To Buy)

★★★★★

And now for a bit of a different kind of post:

Some self-disclosure, meeting the bookstagrammer moment - Hi! I'm Ms.Bjork, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working as a crisis counselor and assessment clinician. I have my master's degree and now I'm thinking of applying for my PhD in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Forensic Psychology. I read this book to get the DL on what to do and expect in a forensic psychology track (also low key it's written by a professor I would like to study under).

This book is filled with really fantastic information - it's thorough and detailed and really walks you through each step of the process from explaining what forensic psychologists do to what you need to become a strong applicant (nailing the GRE *gulp*) to how the internship process works and ending with licensure explanation.

Because Becoming a Forensic Psychologist is a different type of book, I'm not recommending books that are like it, but rather books that I'm using to study for the GRE and GRE Psychology exams. Mainly Kaplan Test Prep's GRE Subject Test: Psychology and Educational Testing Service (ETS)'s Official GRE Super Power Pack.

Anyone out there taken the GRE, applied for a PhD, or have any general recommendations?

Wish me luck!

Ms.Bjork

About Me

IMG_1517.jpg

Ms.Bjork here and I love reading.  Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed the company of a good book.  Books are also a way that I get through the stress of living - nothing like escaping in a good story!  My career as a mental health counselor can be very intense at times - reading and running are the two main ways that I utilize self-care to support my own mental health and wellbeing.  Before starting this blog, in 2020 I read 128 books.  At the end of the year, I was like Dang, that's a lot of books! How can I get out there and tell people what I think? And so Ms.Bjork Reads was born.
