The Silence of the Lambs (Click Here To Buy)
★★★★★

The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris is a psychological thriller about a serial killer.
I bought this book from Goodwill and read it for Spooky Season and to re-watch the movie.
Clarice Starling is a student at the FBI school. One day the head of the department calls her in and asks her to interview a famous serial killer and psychiatrist named Hannibal Lecter for an assessment they are developing. No one expects Dr. Lecter to speak to Clarice. Not only do they engage in conversation, Dr. Lecter also provides Clarice with clues and tidbits of information about a serial killer named Buffalo Bill who is on the loose abducting and skinning women. When a senator's daughter is abducted, it's a race against time to solve Dr. Lecter's riddles and save a life.
I saw The Silence of the Lambs movie as a young adult but somehow, I never read the book! This is one of those rare instances where both the movie and the book are spectacular. As a mental health professional, I really enjoyed Dr. Lecter and Clarice's clinical discussions. I also I love what a great bad guy he is! 5 stars and a must read!
If you liked The Silence of the Lambs, I also recommend The Jigsaw Man by Nadine Matheson, The Whisper Man by Alex North, Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King, and You by Caroline Kepnes.
Happy reading Clarice 😈
