Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? Big Questions from Tiny Mortals about Death (Click Here To Buy)

★★★★★

Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? Big Questions from Tiny Mortals about Death by Caitlin Doughty is a non-fiction book where kids asked a mortician questions.

I read this as an audiobook checked out from the library and read by the author.

Death is something we need to more comfortable with talking about in our society today and I feel like Doughty is a great person to lead this front. She is engaging, funny, and honest about what happens to our bodies when we die and why. The fact that the questions all come from children makes me feel like these are things we’ve all wondered at one time or another including: Will I poop when I die? and Can I be buried with my hamster? Informational and entertaining, the audiobook reads like a podcast and this is largely due to the author’s fantastic narration.

I have also read Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and Other Lessons from the Crematory by this author and if you liked this book, you should definitely read that one! Doughty has one other book I haven’t read called From Here to Eternity and I will definitely read it at some point.

If you liked Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?, I also recommend Stiff by Mary Roch, Hallucinations by Oliver Sachs, Marbles by Ellen Forney, and Breath by James Nestor.

Happy reading ☠️

About Me

IMG_1517.jpg

Ms.Bjork here and I love reading.  Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed the company of a good book.  Books are also a way that I get through the stress of living - nothing like escaping in a good story!  My career as a mental health counselor can be very intense at times - reading and running are the two main ways that I utilize self-care to support my own mental health and wellbeing.  Before starting this blog, in 2020 I read 128 books.  At the end of the year, I was like Dang, that's a lot of books! How can I get out there and tell people what I think? And so Ms.Bjork Reads was born.
